Teachers welcome new education minister

Imphal: The Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) is highly elated at the induction of S. Rajen Singh as minister of education in the council of ministers led by N. Biren Singh.

Elevation of S. Rajen Singh as Cabinet Minister by handing over the charge of Education is highly welcome as he has already been MoS, education and SCERT during the regime of W. Nipamacha Singh, ex-CM of Manipur, COTA said.

As he has ample hands-on experience with regards to the issues plaguing the education sector, the COTA has reasonable faith on him that he will attend to all the issues with all earnestness irking the education system of the state, it added.

The teachers’ association council has always been extending its support and cooperation in all the endeavor of the state government in bringing about change and reforms in education sector. In the same spirit, COTA will continue to lend its helping support to the newly inducted education minister in all his venture in education domain, it said.

COTA congratulates Rajen Singh education, fisheries and CADA minister and wishes him all the luck.

“We would like to take the preveledge to draw his kind attention towards the long pending demand of the teachers community serving under schools education with regards to the rectification of RoP-2019. It is pertinent to mention that RoP-2019 (7th Pay) has utterly demoralized the teachers community due to the downward revision of the pay structure” the teacher’s association council
