Manipur Covid-19 update

Imphal: In the past 24 hours, 206 persons from general population and 31 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-I9 positive cases, Covid-19 common control room said

The positive cases are from RIMS — 22; JNIMS — 64; Senapati — 2; Raj Medicity — 4; Thoubal — 13; Noney — 21; Shija Hospital — 7; Maipalcpi Hospital — 2; Tengnoupal —19; Churachandpur — 3; Imphal West — 24; Imphal East — 4; Bishnupur —1; Mother’s Care — 1; RD Wing — 6; Tamenglong — 12; Jivan Hospital — 1; Chandel — 10; Babina Diagnostics — 8; Peace Hospital — 2; Jiribam — 11, the control room said.

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West — 60; Imphal East-61; Bishnupur — 4; Senapati — 4; Churachandpur — 5; Tengnoupal — 3; Nancy — 23; Thoubal — 19; Tamenglong — 12; Chandel — 10; Jiribam — 5. Seven persons (Churachandpur — I; Thoubal — 3, Senapati — 2, 1E – 1) are returnees from other states while the rest are locals without any significant travel history, it added.

They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it said.

In the last 24 hours, two males aged 41 years (Thoubal) and 58 years (Imphal West) expired at Shija Hospital. The cumulative number of deaths is 67, it added.

The total number of discharged persons is 421. 6. The cumulative number of home lsolation cases till date is 596, 335 (active cases) and 261 (discharge cases).
They are from CAPF (10), RIMS (6), RD Wing (3), CCC Lamding Thoubal (16), UNACCO (18), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (67), Tamenglong (22), Moreh (2), TIC Ulchrul (3), ICangpolcpi (4) and PR Kakching (9) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test, the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 10983 (general population — 8684 and central security personnel -2299). The number of active cases is 2456 (general population — 1915 and central security personnel -541). The recovery rate is 77.02 percent.

As per state SOP dated asymptomatic positive persons will be discharged from CCC after 10 days without symptoms. Them is no retest before discharge. Persons will self isolate at home for further seven day and self-monitor his/her health. Medical officer in the CCC will issue a discharge slip. This protocol is in accordance with MoHFW guidelines. When a person does not have symptoms and is not infectious, the person is perfectly safe to be discharged and go home, the control room said.
