284 more tested positive for COVID-19, death toll reaches 104

Imphal: In Manipur, a total of 265 persons from general population and19 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases as on Thursday.

The positive cases were from JNIMS (160), Senapati (1), Thoubal (10), Noney (4), Shija Hospital (7), Kamjong (3), Maipakpi (1), Churachandpur (16), Imphal East (7), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (9), RD Wing (7), Senapati (3), Raj Medicity (4), Jivan Hospital (3), Babina Diagnostics (17), CMC (3), Jiribam (1), Kangpokpi (5), Tengnoupal (2), Advance Hospital (3), Asian Hospital (2), Tamenglong (8) and RL (2).

The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (22), Imphal East (91), Thoubal (15), Kamjong (3), Chandel (3), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (1), Tamenglong (9), Kakching (10), Churachandpur (52), Senapati (15), Kangpokpi (30), Bishnupur (8) and Noney (4). Two persons (1-Imphal East, 1-Bishnupur) were returnees while the rest are locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID care facilities.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state COVID-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, one person aged 58 years from Imphal West expired at Raj Medicity. The cumulative number of deaths reached 104.

“The total number of discharged persons is 166. They are from CAPF (41), Home Isolation (28), RIMS (10), JNIMS (3), Lamboikhong (29), UNACCO (20), PR Kakching (21). Tamenglong (1). Noney (1), Lanva (3), Sadhbhavna (3), Senapati (1), Bishnupur (4) and Kangpokpi (1),” the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases reached 14,378 (general population – 11,791 and central security personnel – 2,587). The number of active cases stood at 3,193 (general population 2,848 and central security Personnel – 345). “The recovery rate is 77.06 percent,” the control room said.

A function organised at medical directorate, Lamphelpat, medicine packages (Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin D) were distributed to CMOs of Imphal.

The function was haired by advisor to the chief minister and attended by principal secretary (health) and director, health services.

The medicine packages will be given to the persons undergoing Home Isolation in the two districts of Imphal West and Imphal East. The same medicines will also be distributed to the intended persons through the CMOs of all the districts. “The cumulative number of persons under Home Isolation till date is 1095,” the control room said.
