Imphal: At least 18 Manipur Police personnel and 18 Doctors of JNIMS Surgery Department tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Among the positive police personnel, 15 were from Wangoi Police Station and 3 from Churachandpur.
Total COVID-19 positive cases in the state is 14,715 out of which recovered cases is 11,245 and total active case is 3,361 and number of death is 109 as on 5 pm of 16th October.
Meanwhile, DC Imphal west has declared the following areas under containment zone.
North: IVR running East – West joining Thangmeiband Khoyathong Road on the east and Lamphel Super Market/Sanakeithel Road on the west (including the residences of Chontham Topajit, Khuraijam Khagok Singh, Shamurailatpam Naba Sharma, Laishram Biren Singh, Mayengbam Chitreshwor Singh and THYIO Club which stand along the southern perimeter of the NR).
South: RIMS Road running East – West joining Nagamapal Road on the east and Thangjam Leirak on the west [including the residence of (L) Ningthoujam Binoy and Imphal Dental Care which stand along the northern perimeter of the Road).
East: Nagamapal Road and Thangmeiband Khoyathong Road running North – South joining the IVR aforementioned in the north and RIMS Road in the south [Including the residences of Chongtham Topajit, Leishangthem Golden, Thounaojam Ibomcha, Ningthoujam Ango Singh, Yengkhom Thambalngou, (L) Nlngthoujam Blnoy, TANISHQ building, THYO Club and Rising Knowledge Club which stand along the western perimeter of the Roads].
West: Lamphel Super Market/Sanakeithel Road and Thangjam Lelrak running North – South joining IVR aforementioned In the north and RIMS Road on the south [Including the residences of Mayenbam Chitreshwor Singh, (L) Thangjam Karnamaya Singh, Advanced Diagnostic Labs, MM Gas and Imphal Dental Care, and excluding the residential plot covered by CS Dag Nos. 7047 & 7048 of Revenue Village No. 91 (A) – Lamphelpat which stand along the eastern perimeter of the Roads.
An awareness rally was organised by District Police and District Administration, under the “Jan Andolan Public Campaign – COVID Appropriate Behaviour” theme. The rally started from Lamlong Bazar via Tinsid Road, then passed through Kongba Chingangbam Leikai, TV Tower crossing, JNIMS Crossing, Porompat Crossing, DC Road and through Chingangbam Leikai.
