Imphal: In Manipur 345 persons including six personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours till Thursday 5 pm.
During the 24 hours three persons expired due to the contagion. They were a 70 years old female from Bishnupur, 58 years old male from Noney and a 35 years old male from Bishnupur. They expired at Raj Medicity, RIMS and JNIMS respectively.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 127.
The new positive cases were from RIMS (41), Churachandpur (17), Bishnupur (15), Christian Hospital (1), Escent Diagnostics (1), Kakching (1), Raj Medicity (19), Imphal East (30), Tengnoupal (4), Thoubal (23), Swiss Hospital (1), JNIMS (34), Sky Hospital (1), Tamenglong (25), Jiribam (1), Ukhrul (1), Kangpokpi (2), Mother’s Care (2), Advance Hospital (3), Babina Diagnostics (13), Asian Hospital (1), Chandel (3), Senapati (4) and Imphal West (102).
The positive cases belonging to the general population were from Imphal West (154), Imphal East (71), Thoubal (31), Jiribam (1), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (25), Churachandpur (17), Tengnoupal (4), Senapati (6) and Bishnupur (23).
Seven (IW-5, IE-2) were returnees while the rest were locals without any significant travel history.
They were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, according to COVID-19 common control room.
A total of 196 were discharged from CAPF (22), Home Isolation (25), JNIMS (2), RIMS (15), PR Kakching (8), Sadhbhavna (6), Lanva (3), UNACCO (43), LKK (26), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (11), TK Ukhrul (7), Lamding (2), Thoubal (18), JNV Chandel (2), DH Chandel (2) and Jiribam (2).
The cumulative number of positive cases rose to 16,621 (general population – 13,929 and central security personnel – 2,692). The number of active cases stood at 4,101 (general population – 3,794 and central security personnel -307). The recovery rate was 74.56 percent.
Chief minister N. Biren on Thursday chaired a consultative discussion on COVID-19 There were detailed discussions on steps taken so far, technical aspects of tackling COVID and SoPs.
Government will continue to provide all accommodation and equipment for treatment of COVID-19 patients. MLAs, CSOs and volunteers will help in imparting awareness to the masses on strict implementation of SOPs and COVID appropriate behaviors, the control room said.
