Police bust Brown Sugar lab, over 40 kg Brown Sugar seized, 2 arrested 3 escaped

Imphal: Manipur Police on Thursday busted a brown Sugar laboratory at Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi in Thoubal district.

The Brown Sugar laboratory was being operational at the residence of Md. Abdullah alias Md. Tomba 28 years son of late Md. Rashid Ahamad of Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi, police said.

Following the information teams of Thoubal District Police under the supervision of Dr S. Ibomcha Singh, MPS, SP-Thoubal immediately rushed to the area and conducted search operation at around 4: 15 pm of the day, it added.

On searching the house, the police teams found two large bags and one small transparent plastic bag containing suspected Heroin Brown Sugar and other items which are used in manufacturing the contraband drug items.

Police seized items that included 30.245 kg of suspected Brown Sugar contained inside one plastic yellow bag, 10.735 kg of suspected Brown Sugar contained inside one black plastic bag, 3. 106.5 gms of suspected Brown Sugar contained inside one transparent plastic bag, three white clothes, 5. 110 litre of Morphinated liquid, one suspected lime bag marked as Star Brand lime weighing 5.280 kg, white chemical contained in black plastic bag suspected to be Ammonium Chloride weighing 1.274 kg and two mobile phones.

Two residents of Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi involved in manufacturing illegal drug items were arrested. They were Md. Saukat Ali, 35, son of late Md. Rashid Ahamad and Chinneilam Haokip alias Lalam alias Lamsee, 28, wife of Md. Nawaz Khan.

Three of their associates escaped from the spot. They were Abdullah, wife Rubina, 24, and Md. Nawaz Khan, 27, son of late Md. Abdul Khalique.

Strong efforts are being made to arrest them, police said.
