262 tested positive for COVID-19, 200 recovered, 5 succumbed

Imphal: As on Monday time 5 pm Manipur recorded 262 COVID-19 positive cases, 200 recovery and five death cases.

State COVID-19 common control room said, in the past 24 hours, 255 persons (135 makes, 120 females) from general population and seven personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

The positive cases were from JNIMS (23), RIMS (24), Imphal West (61), Imphal East (23), Imphal Hospital (1), Hillside Hospital (1), Kangpokpi (3), Noney (4), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (20). Ukhrul (1), Kamjong (8), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (5), Jiribam (2), Escent Diagnostics (2), Thoubal (8), Shija Hospital (12), Raj Medicity (7), CMC (4), Asian Hospital (1), Tamenglong (31), Advance Hospital (1) and Babina Diagnostics (18).

Except five from Imphal West all from the general population were returnees from outside the state while the rest were locals without any significant travel history.

“They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the control room said.

Those expired were persons aged 87 years (female, Imphal East), 65 years (male, Imphal East), 83 years (male, Imphal East), 27 years (female, Imphal West) and 55 years (female, Imphal East) expired at (two at JNIMS) and (three at RIMS) respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths was 144.

The cumulative number of positive cases was 17,424 (general population – 14,709 and central security personnel – 2,715). The cumulative number of recovered cases was 13,057 (general population – 10,638 and central security personnel – 2,419). The number of active cases was 4,223 (general population – 3,931 and central security personnel – 292). The recovery rate stood at 74.93 percent.
