Ginsuanhau of Singhat AC sworn in as BJP MLA

Imphal: After registering unopposed win in the by-poll, the BJP candidate of 60-Singhat Assembly Constituency Ginsuanhau was sworn-in as BJP MLA of the BJP-led Manipur government on Wednesday.

Ginsuan took oath at the Speaker Chamber of the Manipur Legislative Assembly here in the afternoon.

The oath taking ceremony was also attended by forest and environment minister Awangbou Newmai, social welfare minister Okram Henry, NPF MLA Khashim Vashum.

Ginsuanhau won uncontested after his only rival independent candidate Chinlunthang withdrawn his candidature.

The newly swon MLA credited the win to BJP and chief minister N. Biren Singh.

The by-poll for rest of the four constituencies were scheduled to be held on Nov 7.
