Manipur COVID-19 update: 213 positive, 222 negative, 4 expired

Imphal: In the past 24 hours till Friday 5 pm, 207 persons from general population and 14 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur.

The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (49), Imphal East (39), Thoubal (32), Tengnoupal (4), Kangpokpi (2), Kamjong (2), Ukhrul (2), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (11), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (14), Tamenglong (35), Jiribam (1) and Chandel (6).

All were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, state COVID-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, four persons aged 42 years (female, Churachandpur), 60 years (female, Imphal West), 56 years (male, Kangpokpi) and 53 years (female, Imphal East) expired at Samaritan Hospital, RIMS and two at JNIMS respectively.

COVID-19 related death toll reached 164 mark.

The total number of discharged persons was 222. They were from Home Isolation (96), JNIMS (11), RIMS (5), LKK (15), UNACCO (24), PR Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (3), Noney (1), Tamenglong (12), RD Wing (1), Moreh (15), Bishnupur (7), Thoubal (9), Bal Bhavan (13), Jiribam (3). Senapati (1), Sadhbhavna (2) and Lanva (3).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 18,272 (general population – 15,526 and central security personnel – 2,746). The number of active cases was 4,303 (general population – 3,999 and central security personnel – 304). The recovery rate was 75.55 percent.
