150 more tested positive for COVID-19

Imphal: In Manipur as on Tuesday 5 pm 150 persons from general population were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

The positive cases were from Imphal West (37), Imphal East (31), Thoubal (11), Kangpokpi (4), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (3), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (8), Tamenglong (28), Tengnoupal (3), Kamjong (3) and Chandel (1).

All were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, COVID-19 common control room said.

It said In the last 24 hours, four persons aged 65 years (female, Imphal East), 49 years (male, Imphal West), 75 years (male, Thoubal) and 71 years (male, Imphal West) expired at Shija and RIMS (3) Hospital respectively. The cumulative number of deaths was 184.

The total number of discharged persons was 117. They were from CAPF (10), Home Isolation (29), JNIMS (5), RIMS (7), LKK (8), UNACCO (14), LANVA (1), PR Kakching (10), JNV Chandel (2), Thoubal (6), Lamding (4), RD Wing (14), Bishnupur (4) and Bal Bhavan (3).

The cumulative number of positive cases was 19,241 (general population – 16,453 and central security personnel – 2,788). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 15,460. The number of active cases was 3,597 (general population – 3,285 and central security personnel – 312). The recovery rate was 80.34 percent.
