Manipur records 166 fresh COVID-19 cases, 342 recovered

Imphal: In the past 24 hours, Manipur witnessed an increase of 166 in the COVID-19 positive cases. 159 positive cases from general population and 7 positive cases from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were recorded in the state respectively.

According to the report made by COVID-19 common control room, the positive persons were tested at JNIMS (21), RIMS (13), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (33), Maipakpi (4), Shija Hospital (24), Acme (2), CMC (2), Iboyaima (2), Raj Medicity (3), Sielmat (1), Advance Hospital (2), Jivan Hospital (1), Escent Diagnostics (7), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Churachandpur (9), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (2), Uklind (3), Senapati (1) and Babina Diagnostics (26).

Out of 159 positive cases from general population, 85 were reported as males and 74 were females.  They are from Imphal West (77), Imphal East (45), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (5), Senapati (2), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (9), Tengnoupal (4) and Noney (2).

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID-19 common control room.

In the past 24 hours, two persons aged 47 years and 86 years expired at RIMS, Imphal. Both of them were males and belong to Imphal West. The cumulative number of deaths is 191.

Meanwhile, 342 patients have recovered and discharged in the past 24 hours. They are from CAPF (18), Home Isolation (222), RIMS (9), JNIMS (11), LICK (14), UNACCO (26), RD Wing (5), Bal Bhavan (7), Bishnupur (2), Tamenglong(3), Jiribam (3), Moreh (4), Noney (3), Thoubal (11) and Lamding (4).

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 19,891 out of which 17,080 belong to General Population and the remaining 2,811 belong to Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 16,092 with 13,586 from General Population and 2,506 from Central Security Personnel. The number of active cases has reduced to 3,608 out of which 3,307 are from General Population and 301 are from Central Security Personnel. The recovery rate also slightly increased to 80.90%.
