622 more recovered from COVID-19

Imphal: In Manipur a total of 622 COVID-19 patients were recovered on Saturday pushing the recovery rate to 83. 02 percent.

The patients were discharged from CAPF (42), Home Isolation (466), RIMS (18), JNIMS (5), LKK (16), UNACCO (20), LANVA (2), Kasom Khullen (2), PR Kakching (1), RD Wing (3), Bal Bhavan (15), Bishnupur (14), Tamenglong(1), Jiribam (3), Moreh (3), Thoubal (9) and Lamding (2).

In the past 24 hours, 226 persons from general population and 14 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (55), Imphal East (72), Thoubal (16), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (7), Tamenglong (40), Senapati (3), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (12), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (1) and Chandel (1).

All were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, COVID-19 common control room said.

During the last 24 hours, three persons aged 75 years (female, Imphal West), 80 years (male, Thoubal) and 93 years (male, Imphal West) expired at JNIMS (1) and RIMS (2) respectively. The cumulative number of deaths was 194.

The cumulative number of positive cases was 20,131 (general population – 17,306 and central security personnel – 2,825). The number of active cases was 3,223 (general population – 2,950 and central security personnel – 273).

Weekly media briefing on COVID-19 at directorate of health services started on November 6 to facilitate effective communication between the health department and the public.
