Imphal: Education minister S. Rajen Singh on Monday inspected the construction work progress of DM University.
He was satisfied with the work progress at dministrative building, central library, humanity and science block. However, he was not satisfied with the construction of Class room Block B and Commerce block.
The minister warned that the concerned chief engineer will be asked to serve show cause notice to the contractors of the work. The contractors’ liabilities will be cleared and will ask if they have the desire to continue the contract work.
The state government is considering to increase the intake capacity of students in the university in view of the students who studied outside the state but returned owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The department is targeting to complete all the construction and infrastructure development of the academic blocks of the university as early as possible and inaugurate the same by December.
