Imphal: Assam Rifles troops in a coordinated operation intercepted a large convoy of vehicles carrying smuggled foreign origin textile and consumer goods near Moreh on Wednesday.

At around 11 AM, 15 vehicles moving on NH 102 were intercepted and on checking large quantity of Chinese textile goods such as fabrics, jeans, dresses, blankets and consumer goods such as footwear were found sans any supporting legal documents.

The smuggled goods were estimated to be worth Rs 75 lakhs.
