Manipur records 254 COVID-19 cases; death toll reaches 207

So far, Manipur recorded a total of 207 deaths due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, five persons expired at at RIMS, Raj Medicity and Shija Hospital due to COVID-19. The deceased persons were 39 year-old female from Imphal West, 71 year-old female from Imphal West, 68 year-old male from Imphal West, 54 year-old male from Imphal East and 35 year-old male from Thoubal.

228 persons from general population and 26 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed positive of COVID-19 bringing the total of 254 positive cases in the past 24 hours. They were tested at JNIMS (60), RIMS (32), Imphal East (17), Imphal West (15), CMC (2), Maipakpi (1), Mother’s Care (1), Escent Diagnostics (1), SWISS (1), ACME (1), Shija Hospital (16), Christian Hospital (1), Imphal Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (3), Tamenglong (21), Ukhrul ( 11), Tengnoupal (2), Churachandpur (11), Chandel (6), Kangpokpi (4), Kamjong (5), Jiribam (2) and Babina Diagnostics (22).

Among the general population, 109 were males and 119 were females. They belong to Imphal West (71), Imphal East (54), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (4), Ukhrul (11), Tamenglong (24), Churachandpur (11), Tengnoupal (2), Kangpokpi (4), Senapati (1), Kamjong (5), Chandel (8) and Jiribam (2) respectively.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID common control room.

Meanwhile, 191 persons were recovered and discharged in the last 24 hours. They are from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (57), JNIMS (1), RIMS (17), LKK (58), UNACCO (24), RD Wing (4), PR Kakching (2), Bal Bhavan (7), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (7), Kangpokpi (1) and Tamenglong (6).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 21,211 with 18,345 from General Population and 2,866 from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 17,889 out of which 15,283 are from General Population and 2,606 are from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of active cases is 3,115 with 2,859 and 256 cases from General Population and Central Security Personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 84.33%.
