Another 6 deaths reported due to COVID-19 in Manipur


The state suffered eleven deaths in the last 2 days due to COVID-19 pandemic pushing the death toll to 213.

In the past 24 hours, 6 persons expired at RIMS, Raj Medicity, District Hospital Churachandpur and Shija Hospital in the state. The deceased persons were 63 year-old and 58 year-old males from Bishnupur, 70 year-old male and 50 year-old female from Churachandpur and 53 year-old and 80 year-old males from Imphal West.

214 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, out of which 211 were from general population and the other 3 were Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (18), RIMS (39), Imphal East (3), Imphal West (32), CMC (1), Maipakpi (1), Little Clinic (1), Hillside (2), IRL (1), Escent Diagnostics (4), Shija Hospital (11), Christian Hospital (1), Advance Hospital (3), Raj Medicity (11), Thoubal (3), Kakching (22), Tamenglong (20), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (12), Kangpokpi (5) and Babina Diagnostics (18).

Among the general population, 123 were males and 88 were females. They belong to Imphal West (98), Imphal East (25), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (22), Ukhrul (3), Tamenglong (20), Churachandpur (5), Kangpokpi (3), Senapati (1) and Chandel (13) respectively.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID common control room in their 5pm report.

On the other hand, 255 persons were recovered and discharged in the past 24 hours. They are from CAPF (22), Home Isolation (132), RIMS (10), LKK (14), LANVE (3), UNACCO (22), RD Wing (11), Sadbhavna (1), TK Ukhrul (4), Bal Bhavan (1), Bishnupur (7), Lamding (2), Kasom Khullen (11), Noney (3), Moreh (1) and Tamenglong (11).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 21,425 out of which 18,556 are from General Population and 2,869 are from Central Security Personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 18,144 with 15,516 from General Population and 2,628 from Central Security Personnel. The number of active cases is 3,068 with 2,831 and 237 cases from General Population and Central Security Personnel respectively. The recovery rate is increased to 84.68%.
