Imphal: As on Wednesday in the past 24 hours, 107 persons (63M, 44F) from general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, while 194 persons were discharged.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (37), Imphal East (16), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (15), Ukhrul (2), Tamenglong (9), Churachandpur (3), Kangpokpi (3), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (6), Jiribam (1) and Senapati (1).
All were locals without any significant travel history. They wee being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, COVID-19 common control room said.
In the last 24 hours, six persons aged 75 years (female, Imphal West), 56 years (male, Imphal East), 75 years (female, Thoubal), 52 years (male, Imphal East), 77 years (male, Imphal East) and 27 years (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity (2) and RIMS Hospital (3) respectively.
The cumulative number of deaths was 231.
The recovery rate was 86.29 percent.
