Imphal: Assam Rifles of Spear Corps, Indian Army in an operation on Wednesday apprehended two insurgents of the proscribed group NSCN-IM near Buela in Chakpikarong, Manipur.
Acting on a specific input about the presence of the insurgents in the area, a search operation was launched by a team of Assam Rifles which culminated in apprehension of two insurgents. Security forces also recovered one 9mm pistol, one magazine and three live rounds.
The insurgents were handed over to Police authorities at Sugnu Police station for further investigation the Assam Rifles release said.
