Manipur COVID-19 update: 268 more tested positive, recovery rate stands at 85.73 percent

Imphal: In Manipur 268 persons from general population were found positive which includes 26 new COVID-19 cases from Lilong and Wangjing Assembly Constituencies and 22 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (83), Imphal East (65), Thoubal (37), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (18), Tengnoupal (4), Ukhrul (5), Tamenglong (16), Noney (3), Churachandpur (12), Senapati (4) and Kangpokpi (2).

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” COVID-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, two persons aged 67 years (female, Imphal West) and 76 years (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital and Raj Medicity respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths was 240.

The cumulative numbers of recovered cases were revised to 151. They were from CAPF (1), Home Isolation (73), RIMS (7), JNIMS (3), Shija Hospital (6), LKK (6), RD Wing (3), UNACCO (20), Sadbhavna (1), Bal Bhavan (1), Thoubal (3), Kamjong (1), Tamenglong (1), Jiribam (1) and Lamding (9).

The cumulative number of positive cases was 23,940 (general population – 20,869 and central security personnel – 3,071). The number of active cases was 3,175 (general population – 2.865 and central security personnel – 310).

The recovery rate was 85.73 percent.
