Manipur records 159 positive cases and 158 recoveries; 4 deaths reported

159 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 in Manipur in the past 24 hours. All of them were from general population. Among them 119 were males and 40 were females.

The positive cases were tested at JNIMS (34), RIMS (23), Imphal East (5), Imphal West (27), Mother’s Care (1), Shija Hospital (12), Imphal Hospital (1), Public Hospital (1), Jivan Hospital (1), Lamjingba (1), Little Clinic (1), CMC (1), Raj Medicity (4), Escent Diagnostics (5), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (5), Tamenglong (2), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (1), Chandel (2), Senapati (1), Jiribam (4), Kangpokpi (2) and Babina Diagnostics (15). They belong to Imphal West (73), Imphal East (43), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (3), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (4) and Kangpokpi (2) districts.

“All are locals without any significant mod history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their 5pm report on Thursday.

In the past 24 hours, 4 persons expired at District Hospital Churachandpur, RIMS and JNIMS Hospital. They are 75 year-old female from Churachandpur, 40 year-old male from Bishnupur, 68 and 55 year-old males from Imphal West districts. The cumulative number of deaths is 249.

Meanwhile, 158 persons were recovered and discharged from Home Isolation (107), RIMS (39), LKK (4), UNACCO (2), Sadbhavna (3), TK Ukhrul (1), Bishnupur (1) and Jiribam (1) in the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 24,292 with 21,220 from general population and 3,072 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 20,798 out of which 18,038 are from general population and 2,760 are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 3,245 with 2,937 and 308 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 85.61%.
