Manipur suffers 8 more fatalities; 152 recovered

Imphal: Manipur recorded another 8 deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The deceased persons are 75 year-old, 54 year-old and 75 year-old males from Imphal East, 35 year-old male from Imphal West, 58 year-old male from Kangpokpi, 80 year-old female from Ukhrul and 75 year-old male and 42 year-old female from Bishnupur districts. They expired at RIMS and JNIMS, Imphal. The cumulative number of deaths is increased to 289.

In the past 24 hours, 198 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 out of which 156 belong to general population and 42 belong to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (61), RIMS (26), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (31), Maipakpi (1), Mother’s Care (1), SWISS (1), Advance Hospital (2), Acme (1), Shija Hospital (8), Christian Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (4), RD Wing (4), Little Clinic (1), Jivan Hospital (1), Escent Diagnostics (7), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (3), Ukhrul (7), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (1), Jiribam (2) and Babina Diagnostics (12).

Among the general population, 72 are males and 84 are females. They belong to Imphal West (68), Imphal East (41), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (21), Kakching (3), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (2), Ukhrul (6), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (2), Jiribam (2) and Chandel (1) districts.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their press release at 5pm on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 152 persons were recovered and discharged from Home Isolation (104), CAPF (3), RIMS (2), JNIMS (8), LKK (14), UNACCO (4), Raj Medicity (2), RD Wing (2), JNV Chandel (2), Bal Bhavan (4), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (4) and Kangpokpi (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 25,243 with 22,119 from general population and 3,124 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 21,718 out of which 18,935 are general population and 2,783 are central security personnel. The number of active cases is 3,236 with 2,899 and 337 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 86.03%.
