Recovery rate surges as 219 more recover from COVID-19

Imphal: Manipur witnessed an increase in COVID-19 recovery rate from 86.03% to 86.40% in the past 24 hours, mainly due to a surge in COVID-19 recoveries in the state.

In the past 24 hours, 219 patients were recovered and discharged from RIMS (26), JNIMS (10), CAPF (18), Home Isolation (122), LKK (12), UNACCO (6), Raj Medicity (1), RD Wing (2), TK Ukhrul (2), Bal Bhavan (8), Bishnupur (7) and Tamenglong (5). With this, the cumulative number of recovered cases is 21,937 out of which 19,136 are from general population and 2,801 are from central security personnel.

147 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours out of which 141 belong to general population and 6 belong to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (23), RIMS (36), Imphal West (5), Maipakpi (2), SWISS (1), CMC (2), Advance Hospital (2), Sielmat (1), Shija Hospital (10), Asian Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (4), Escent Diagnostics (5), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (8), Tamenglong (13), Kangpokpi (4), Churachandpur (3), Jiribam (2), Noney (2) and Babina Diagnostics (17).

Among the positive cases from general population 67 are males and 74 are females. They belong to Imphal West (54), Imphal East (31), Thoubal (13), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (13), Kangpokpi (4), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (2), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (1), Jiribam (2) and Chandel (1) districts.

COVID Common Control Room said, “All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.”

Meanwhile, a female aged 58 years from Imphal West and a male aged 70 years from Imphal East expired at RIMS and JNIMS, Imphal respectively. The cumulative number of deaths is 291 out of which 287 belong to general population and 4 belong to central security personnel.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 25,390 with 22,260 cases from general population and 3,130 cases from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 3,162 with 2,837 and 325 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively.
