Manipur COVID-19 related death toll rises to 306

Imphal: COVID-19 related death toll has risen to 306 as seven more expired due to the contagion on Sunday.

In the last 24 hours, seven persons aged 29 years (male, Imphal West), 64 years (male, Imphal West), 87 years (female, Imphal East), 67 years (male, Thoubal), 69 years (male, Imphal West), 58 years (female, Bishnupur) and 47 years (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (I), RIMS (1) and JNIMS Hospital (4) respectively, COVID-19 common control room said on Sunday.

During the period 190 persons from general population and 26 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new positive cases.

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (77), Imphal East (47), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (25), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (4), Kangpokpi (2), Kamjong (2), Churachandpur (3) and Noney (4).

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Cam facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the control room said.

A total of 193 COVID-19 patients were discharged from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (130), RIMS (7), JNIMS (5), LKK (9), LANVA (3), UNACCO (7), RD Wing (4), PR Rajmed (1), Bal Bhavan (10), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (4) and Kangpokpi (2).

The cumulative number of positive cases was 26,073; the number of active cases was 2,919; and the recovery rate reached 87.63 percent.
