Manipur records 152 positive cases; recovery rate rises to 87.69%

Imphal: Manipur reported 152 fresh positive cases in the past 24 hours out of which 151 belong to general population and 1 belongs to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (51), RIMS (43), Imphal West (11), Maipakpi (1), Mother’s Care (2), SWISS (1), Shija Hospital (10), Christian Hospital (1), Jivan Hospital (1), Hillside (2), Raj Medicity (8), Escent Diagnostics (2), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (2), Chandel (1), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (1), Noney (4), Kamjong (2) and Babina Diagnostics (3).

Among the positive cases from general population, 84 are males and 67 are females. They belong to Imphal West (61), Imphal East (44), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (2), Kamjong (2), Churachandpur (16), Chandel (1) and Noney (4) districts.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room.

In the past 24 hours, a 56 year-old male from Bishnupur, a 65 year-old male from Churachandpur and a 70 year-old female from Bishnupur districts expired at RIMS and JNIMS respectively. The cumulative number of deaths is 309.

149 persons were recovered and discharged from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (97), RIMS (13), JNIMS (7), LKK (10), UNACCO (3), RD Wing (3), Shri (4), DH Chandel (1), Bal Bhavan (3), Bishnupur (1), Tamenglong (2), Jiribam (1) and Kangpokpi (2).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 26,225 with 23,043 from general population and 3,182 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 22,997 out of which 20,080 are from general population and 2,917 from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,919 with 2,658 and 261 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 87.69%.
