People’s convention on special status for Manipur to be conducted a day ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to Manipur

Imphal: A day ahead of Union home minister’s visit to Manipur, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) invites everyone to attend one day “people’s convention on special status for Manipur (Kangleipak)” to be held on December 26 at City Convention.

Intellectuals, civil bodies, journalist, academicians, community leaders, legal experts and others will be welcome to express their opinion, coordinator of COCOMI, Sunil Karam said on Tuesday.

He said various ethnic communities have been living together since years till present. To protect the ethnic communities of Manipur and to get equal rights Manipuri needs to demand for a special status.

Sunil appeals people to join the convention so that COCOMI could take the opinions from each ethnic communities of the state.

Sunil said if COCOMI is invited to meet Amit Shah during his visit to Manipur on December 27 then COCOMI is ready to meet him to discuss on the issue.
