Imphal: In continuation of the drive for destruction of illegal poopy plantation a combined team of Tengnoupal District Police, NAB, and forest department destroyed around 40 acres of illicit poppy plantations under Machi Police jurisdiction.
The destruction drive will continue for two weeks and will cover some remaining portion of the area and other areas of Machi and Tengnoupal Police jurisdiction.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh on Thursday stated that the state government will continue to destroy poppy plantations in the state until villagers stop growing it.
