Imphal: Manipur reported 16 new positive cases for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of positive and active cases to 28,986 and 201 respectively.
Among them, 14 are from general population and the remaining 2 are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.
The positive cases from general population were tested at JNIMS (4), RIMS (3), Raj Medicity (1), Jivan Hospital (1), Thoubal (1), Tan1englong (3) and Churachandpur (3). They belong to Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (2), Kakching (1), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (3) and Churachandpur (5) districts.
“All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room.
In the past 24 hours, 11 persons were recovered and discharged from RIMS (1), Home Isolation (7), SHRI (2) and LKK (1). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,416 and the recovery rate is 98.03%.
Meanwhile, there is no report of death due to COVID-19.
