Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren said Inner Line Permit system would not have been implemented in Manipur if BJP government was not there in the centre.
Addressing the State Executive Meeting of BJP held at the party head office in Imphalon Wednesday, he said for many years people of Manipur had suffered in the struggle for ILP implementation in the state. Many students were out of classroom in the struggle and many precious lives were lost. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah ILP is implemented, he added.
Biren further appealed to party MLAs, district leaderships and BJP Mandal leadership to roll out a mass campaign to enrol every possible beneficiary to any available central or state social benefit schemes.
BJP National President JP Nadda also addressed the meeting via video call.
