Covid-19 testing kits from Korea donated to Shija Hospitals

Imphal: Former president of United People’s Front (UPF)Manipur and social worker Bikramjit Oinam with the initiative from Jinine Laishramcha, asst. professor,

International College, South Korea and Seezene business partner in India on Thursday donated Covid-19 testing kits of Seegene Inc, South Korea for one thousand people to Shija Hospitals, Imphal.

Bikramjit said the testing kit known as Seegene’s Allplex 2019-nCoV Assay is apprcved by ICMR, CE-IVD and FDA. It has been used more than 70 percent testing needs in South Korea and also is being supplied to more than 60 countries.

Worldwide Competitive advantage of Seegene’s Allplex 2019-nCoV Assay kits is detection of Covid-19 specific target genes in a sirgle tube [Sarbecovirus (E gene)], Covid-19 (RDRP gene) and Covid-19 (N gene). Simultaneous screening and confirmation of Covid-19 using
real-time PCR, he added.

“The donation is made by considering crucial situation of corona virus pandemic in my home state of Manipur,” he said.  In India, over 3.0 million tests have been conducted by Seegene testing kits by state government labs and private labs, he added.

Expressing his gratitude Dr Kh. Palin, chairman cum managing director, Shija Hospitals informed that the kits will be used exclusively for front liners and BPL patients.

“Shija Hospitals will now offer Covid-19 testing facility to eligible beneficiaries at subsidized rates without any additional cost for reagent,” he said.
