Locals of Tera denounce attack at former MLA Kunjakeswar’ residence

Imphal: Demanding to nab the ‘miscreants’ who attacked at the residence of former MLA of Patsoi Assembly Constituency, Sapam Kunjakeswar located at Tera Sapam Leirak people took up protest rally on Thursday.

The assailants lobbed a hand grenade and fired few rounds of bullets at Kunjakeswar’s residence at around 8:15 pm on the Republic Day.

“The unknown miscreants ran away after lobbing bomb and firing gun shots at his residence. We appeal the state government to nab them at the earliest,” Aribam Radharani a woman leader in the protest said.

She appealed to the people to help to punish the miscreants.

Kunjakeswar said he has his confidence to state police and they will surely nab the miscreants.

He said he has neither personal enmity with anyone neither receive any threat from anyone or group.

The hand grenade did not explode. No one was hurt.

A bomb squad of Manipur police picked up the hand grenade.

A case has been registered at the Lamphel Police station and investigation is on.

The assailants have not been identified till the filing of the report.
