Imphal: District magistrate of Senapati district has imposed prohibitions under Section 144 of CrPC in the whole area within the revenue jurisdiction of Songsong sub-division, Senapati district following sighting of persons carrying weapons ‘suspected to be from Nagaland side’.
In an order issued by the district magistrate Th. Kiranlkumar on Thursday said the prohibition is imposed following an information form the district superintendent of police on Wednesday that incidents of persons carrying weapons suspected to be from Nagaland side were seen and there is likelihood of serious breach of peace disturbance to public tranquility and grave danger to human lives and properties within the area.
According to the order, persons desirous of taking out rallies or processions for socio-political, customary, religious objectives or for entertainment, involving the assembly of five or more persons within the schedule area need to seek permission from the district magistrate.
