Testing of passengers for Covid-19 begins at Imphal airport

Imphal: Testing of passengers coming from five states—Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhaya Pradesh and Gujarat for Covid-19 has begun at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, chief minister N. Biren Singh said on Wednesday.

People still need to be careful and strictly maintain Covid Appropriate Behaviours because some states are currently facing the second wave of the pandemic. As a preventive measure testing of passengers coming from five states has already begun at the airport, Biren said.

With the resurgence in number of Covid-19 active cases state directorate of health services on Tuesday notified that all passengers coming from these five states will be tested for Covid-19 with effect from Wednesday on their arrival at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal until further notification.
