Village security meet discusses Naga peace accord issue


Imphal: Important political issue of the Naga Peace Accord was discussed along with social issues of Covid vaccination, education awareness and information related to upcoming recruitment rallies during a village security meeting organised by Shangshak battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Sorde on Tuesday.

The security meet was organised with the aim of creating security awareness among the local populace.

The locals were also made aware against involvement in smuggling activities in the area, the Assam Rifles said.

The village headmen, secretaries and village authorities of eleven villages in the area attended the meet.

The locals conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the initiatives taken towards improving the standard of living in these remote villages, the Assam Rifles said.
