Rs 15 lakh reward to police for busting 2 drug factory

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday declared to reward the police team who busted two Heroin Brown Sugar factory at Lilong.

The chief minister made the declaration on his Facebook wall, “WAR ON DRUGS:- A sum of Rupees fifteen lakhs will be rewarded along with CM’s commendation to the Thoubal police team who busted two Heroine Brown Sugar manufacturing units at Lillong Nungei Khunou Mamang Leikai.”

The police team busted two Heroin Brown Sugar manufacturing plants at Lilong Nungei area in Thoubal district of Manipur and arrested three persons on Sunday evening.

It raided the drug manufacturing units which were running in two houses. The police teams seized 565 gm Heroin Brown Sugar powder (refined), 1104.98 Kg Heroin Brown Sugar, 5 kg Opium, 131 litre morphinated liquid, two pressing boards, Rs 61, 400 (cash), four two-wheeler vehicles, and other items used in manufacturing Heroin Brown Sugar.

The three arrested persons were Md. Yunush Khan, 22, son of Md. Maneruddin, Bogimayum Sher Shaha, 23, son of B. Sheraj Ahamad of Uchiwa Haotabi Leikai and Md. Manergul.

Police had said four other persons actively involved in running the Heroin Brown Sugar manufacturing units were still at large.

The Sunday raid was conducted under the supervision of superintendent of police, Thoubal, Dr S. Ibomcha Singh.
