Medical team moves to village of 4 Covid-19 positive students, says Biren

Imphal: After four students of St. John’s School, Nungba tested positive (on Wednesday), tests were immediately done on contacts (39 students and 4 teachers) and all were negative, Manipur chief minister Biren informed.

The positive students were brought to JNIMS for treatment/observation. A medical team led by District Surveillnace Officer have gone to Mongjaron Khunou, the native village of the four positive students for testing and necessary actions, Biren said on Thursday.

In the past 24 hours, two persons were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases. They were from Imphal East.

Two Covid patients were recovered and discharged from home isolation.

In the last 24 hours, there was no report of Covid-19 related death case, said Covid-19 common control room said. The cumulative number of deaths was 373. 4

Till Thursday the cumulative number of positive cases was 29,325, the number of active cases was 28 and the recovery rate was 98.63 percent.

As on Wednesday a cumulative number of 78, 662 persons including 30, 958 health care workers were vaccinated to protect from the contagion.
