250 villagers take part at Assam rifles medical camp in Ukhrul

Imphal: In a continued pursuance and commitment towards improvement of general well-being in remote villages of Ukhrul district, Somsai battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a medical camp to continue its endeavour towards health care improvement in remote villages under Assam Rifles Civic Action Program on Saturday.

A total of 250 villagers from remote locations were benefitted by doctors and the medical staff of Assam Rifles. Basic medical requirements of the villagers were taken care considering the lack of adequate medical facilities in this remote area where PHC is itself 40 km away. Post medical camp Covid related equipment such as masks, sanitizers, Oxymeter, infrared thermometers along with general aid medicine were distributed to the villagers.

Post general checkup of all the attendees, a talk on Covid precautions and life style diseases was given by the doctor. The locals acclaimed the efforts of Assam Rifles with the phrase “Assam Rifles a true friend of hill people”, the Assam Rifles said.
