Active Covid-19 positive cases surge to 91

Imphal: With the confirmation of 12 new Covid-19 positive cases in 24 hours (4 pm of Thursday- 4pm of Friday), the active cases has surged to 91 in Manipur on Friday.

Two air passengers at Imphal airport were found positive for the contagion. Fifty-four persons were tested for Covid at Imphal airport on Friday. Cumulative positive cases confirmed at the airport has risen to 46.

The positive cases from general population belonged to Imphal East (1), Imphal West (7), Bishnupur (3) and Senapati (1).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state Covid-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours there was no report of Covid related death. Cumulative number of deaths remained at 375, according to the control room.

Eight persons were discharged, four from home isolation and four other cases transferred outside Manipur.

The cumulative number of positive cases have gone up to 29,475. The recovery rate moved to 98.41 percent.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on 8th April, 2021 by indigo flight 6E-2615 in rows 1-13 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately, the control room said.

Cumulative positive cases confirmed at Imphal airport has risen to 46 as on Friday.

As on Thursday 91, 272 individuals including 31, 904 health care workers were vaccinated. .
