JNIMS employees assured 7th pay, agitation yet to withdraw

Imphal: Manipur chief secretary Rajesh Kumar has assured Teachers Association (TA), JNIMS (Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences) Association for All Non-Teaching Staffs (AANTS), JNIMS and the trained Nurses association (TNA), to revise pay with effective from April 1, 2020, however the agitation of the employees was not withdrawn.

The representatives of the three employees association of JNIMS along with principal secretary (health), director, JNIMS and medical superintendent, JNIMS and others attend the video conferencing held at the office chamber of the chief secretary here on Friday.

According to vice-president of AANTS, Nilakanta Kh, after placing the demands to the chief secretary he assured the employees organisation that the government is ready to issue the payment with effect from April 1, 2020 as arrear under two phases. Half of the payment will be issued in July and another half in January next, he added.

The employees demanded for implementation of the 7th Revision of Pay notionally from January 1, 2016, with effect from April 1, 2019 and with payment in cash of salary from April 1, 2020.

A memorandum of agreement between employees of JNIMS and state government may signed on Saturday.
