Imphal: Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) organised a certificate felicitation ceremony for the 515 candidates who have successfully completed skill training at Namastasya Skill Development Centre at Chandel Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters on Saturday.
The skill development training is part of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana under which youths are being trained for various skills in order to prepare skilled workforce for various industries of the country. The skill development programme was inaugurated in Chandel Battalion on October 14 where 714 candidates have been registered.
The skill development centre was established in Chandel under the aegis of Assam Rifles with an aim to train the youths from remote areas of Chandel in computer hardware repair, tailoring and makeup. This has made them self-reliant in earning a quality livelihood and provide them job opportunities in various industries.
Candidates were motivated to take up jobs in various industries as well as work on their own startups.
