Imphal: Employees’ associations of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal has opposed chief secretary Rajesh Kumar’s offer to revised pay with effect from April 1, 2020 without any notional effect.

Employees stick to their stance to implement the 7th Revision of Pay with notional effect from January 1, 2016.

Teachers’ Association (TA), Trained Nurses Association (TNA) and Association for all Non-teaching staffs, JNIMS, Porompat resolved to form a Joint Action Committee to pursue the demands chaired by Dr H Kulabidhu at the lecture hall 2 of JNIMS on Saturday.

General secretary, TA, JNIMS, Dr S. Bikramaditya said the employees are under the umbrella of JNIMS Society and due to the reason the employees are not authorised to implement the 7th pay similar with state employees. He asked if the employees of the hospital cannot enjoy similar benefit as that of state employees the state government can absorb the employees under state government.

If the government has financial constraint the state government can press the central government to upgrade the hospital as a central medical institute, he added.

Medical students are giving attention for in-ward patients including accident and trauma centre, but the out-patient department has already paralysed.
The agitation for the employees will continue till the demands are fulfilled, he said.
