Manipur University exam deferred after student tests Covid-19 positive

Imphal: Ongoing examinations of Bachelor of Vocational Studies (BVoc) at Manipur University have been postponed after one student appearing BVoc fifth semester examination was found positive for Covid-19.

The student appeared for the examination at room number 437 of the New Social Sciences Block of the varsity on April 6, varsity registrar W. Chandbabu Singh said on Friday.

The students who were in the examination hall of the block to undergo self-quarantine for a week.

The registrar advised all the employees and students of the varsity to follow the Covid guidelines properly.

In a circular, controller of examination of the varsity, Prof NG Nimai Singh, said the ongoing BVoc examination for 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters which was scheduled from April 9 onwards has been postponed until further notice in order to prevent further spread of the virus on the varsity campus.

The examination began on March 22 and supposed to go till April 12.

The student was infected with the coronavirus on the fifth day of the examination which started on March 22 and will go on till April 12.
