Imphal:- Relatives of the deceased persons in the 13th April 1982 Malom incident will only be allowed to enter the Memorial Tomb at Thangmeiband Cheiraoching on Tuesday to pay homage. In an order issued by Imphal West District Magistrate on Monday said that those persons verified/screened by police will only be allowed to enter Cheiraoching.
The order also directed DCs and SPs to strictly enforce the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of Covid-19 guidelines) Regulations 2020 to tackle the rise of fresh Covid-19 cases in the state. It also prohibits gathering of more than 100 persons in religious, sports, entertainment and cultural events/functions.
Performing religious rituals in connection with Cheiraoba on 13th & 14th April at Cheiraoching, Thangmeiband, Pishurn Chinga, Singsamei, stretch of Langol Ching at Iroishemba, Heibok Mahadev, Helbokching, Langthabal Phura Makhong, Langjing and Machin Manao Ching, Bamdiyar are also banned. Those persons who have written permission issued by office of the District Magistrate Imphal West or state Home Department only will be allowed to perform religious rituals at these places for Cheiraoba.
