Covid-19 active cases surge to 133 in Manipur


Imphal: With the confirmation of 21 new positive cases Covid-19 active cases have surged to 133 in Manipur on Wednesday.

The new positive cases from general population belonged to Imphal West (10), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Churachandpur (5) and Tengnoupal (1).

Five air passengers were tested positive out of 117 passengers who were tested in 24 hours (Tyesday 4 am to Wednesday 4 pm) at Imphal airport. Cumulative number of air passengers tested positive at the airport has risen to 60.

“All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the state Covid-19 common control room said.

In the last 24 hours, them wasno report of death. The cumulative number of deaths was 376, it added.

Six Covid-19 patients were discharged from home isolation (3) and RIMS (3).

The cumulative number of positive cases have gone up to 29,561. The recovery rate declined to 98.27 percent.
