Imphal: With the increase in Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur the state government has imposed night curfew during 8 pm to 4 am everyday till April end.
The state home department has issued an order on Friday to impose partial lockdown and night curfews to reduce unnecessary movement and intermingling of people.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 29(2)(a) of the Disaster Management Act 2005 the home department issued order for the night curfew.
The curfew imposed shall not be applicable to all goods carrier vehicles including medical oxygen, all essential service establishments like pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, power supply, public health engineering, municipal offices engaged in cleaning, fire services and medical oxygen manufacturing plants.
All government officials who have been assigned specific duties of Covid-19 management or other emergency services will be exempted from the curfew.
Deputy commissioners / district magistrates shall issue orders under CrPC for their district and enforce the above strictly, the order said.
