Imphal: Sumang Leela (traditional courtyard theatre of Manipur) artistes Sougrakpam Hemanta and Yumnam Nilachandra in Sanamahism have adopted Sanamahism in a function at Lainingthou Sanamahi Laishang, Hayingkhongban Uphong Yumpham, inside 1st Manipur Rifles campus on Friday.
Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba said Meetei/ Meitei community has been raising voice to protect the integrity of Manipur and time has come to look back how much the community has protected the integrity.
Manipur has various ethnic communities having different religion. The inner idea of every religion in the world is same and people should protect their own religion and others too, Sanajaoba said.
The Meetei/ Meitei community should have a firm stand and should cooperate each other before raising the voice on protection of integrity. Due to lack of cooperation amid the community communal issues would occur, he added.
“With the conversion in Sanamahisam I will try to contribute more to protect and preserve the culture,” Hemanta said.
