Imphal: In consonance with Manipur Government’s War on Drugs Campaign, Loktak, Khuga and Churachandpur Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles organised an Anti Drug Awareness Programme at Salamkunjil village of Bishnupur District and Bualkot and Tuining village of Churachandpur District of Manipur on Saturday.
The awareness programme was organised in response to the concerns raised by local populace and CSOs during the Monthly Security Meet with respect to the increasing number of local youth falling prey to the drug menace.
As a part of the programme, an interactive lecture on harmful effects of drugs was conducted to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs and to guide everyone towards leading a healthy life.
The awareness campaign witnessed energetic and overwhelming participation of over 120 youth and adults including ladies from the villages, the Assam Rifles said.
