Classes for IX – XII standards indefinitely suspended, BoSEM and CoHSEM exams postponed

Imphal: In wake of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic and ever increasing numbers of Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur during the last two weeks and to avoid any kind of unwanted consequences likely to occur in the near future and to ensure safety students education department (S) has issued order to suspend physical classes from Class-IX to Class-XII with immediate effect until further order.

The order also directed to postpone High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2021 and Higher Secondary Examination-2021, conducted by BoSEM and CoHSEM respectively, scheduled to commence on May 6 and May 5 respectively.

The order was issued on Monday.

Online classes for classes IX – XII will be resumed at the earliest on top priority, the order said.

As a precautionary measure, it was also ordered that all coaching classes and private tuitions teaching school students as well as all boarding and hostels in schools and private hostels accommodating students will also be closed with immediate effect and until further orders in public interest, the order added.

It was further re-iterated that no physical classes will be held for those students of Class-VIII and below as notified earlier. However, online classes will still continue as usual by all concerned authorities.
