2 expired of Covid-19, 92 more positive

Imphal: In the past 24 hours (Tuesday 4pm to Wednesday 4 pm) Covid-19 has claimed two lives, 92 persons including four central security personnel were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur.

The two expired persons were an 80 years old woman from Kakching and a 63 years old womab from Jiribam. They expired at RIMS and Babina Speciality Hospital respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 380, state Covid-19 common control room said.

The positive cases from general population belonged to Imphal East (13), Imphal West (46), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (2), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (5), Chandel (5), Jiribam (1) and ICangpokpi (1).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

Twenty -two persons were discharged from CAPF (1), Home Isolation (17), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1), RD Wing (1) and SHRI (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases has risen to 29,961, active cases to 453.

The recovery rate is 97.21 percent, the control room said.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on April 19 by Air India Flight AI-889 in rows 27-32 and Indigo flight 6E-172 in rows 19-26 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately, the control room said.

Out of 71 Air passengers tested at Imphal airport six were confirmed positive in 24 hours.
The cumulative number of Covid positive air passengers has climbed to 86.

Latest information said 11, 3651 persons have been vaccinated against the contagion in Manipur.

People above 45 years of age have been advised to get vaccinated.
