Manipur denizens exempted from travel mandatory in emergency cases

Imphal: Manipur government has exempted Manipur natives who have to undertake emergency travel due to urgent unforeseen medical or other exigencies from the mandatory to possess Covid-19 negative certificate to enter Manipur.

Deputy secretary, health and family welfare, Manipur, Soiminlian Lengen, in an order issued on Thursday, said persons belonging to Manipur who have to undertake emergency travel due to urgent unforeseen medical or other exigencies may be exempted from possessing a Covid-19 negative report at the time of entry as a special case, and such persons shall be tested at the state’s entry points.

Prior information of such emergency travel shall be given through the Covid Control Room Helpline number 1800-345-3818 so that necessary arrangements can be made, the order said.

The order was issued in continuation of the April 15 order requiring all incoming persons to produce a negative RT-PCR/ TrueNat/CB-NAAT Covid-19 test report taken within 72 hours before arrival in Manipur.
