Manipur confirms 104 fresh Covid-19 cases, active cases rise to 590

Imphal: At least 104 persons including 16 central security personnel were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases pushing the active cases tally to 590 in Manipur on Friday.

The positive cases from general population belonged to Imphal East (28), Imphal West (36), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (2), ICangpokpi (1), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (10) and Chandel (2).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Covid-19 common control room said.

However there was no report of Covid related death cases. The cumulative number of deaths was 381.
Twenty-seven Covid-19 were discharged in the last 24 hours (Thursday 4 pm-Friday 4pm) from CAPF (1), home isolation (20), JNIMS (1) and SHRI (5).

The cumulative number of positive cases has risen to 30,151 and the recovery rate moved to 96.77 percent.

Air passengers who travelled to Mnipur on April 20 by Indigo Flight 6E-524 in rows 5-11 and April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 11-17 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately.

As per the latest information 11, 8215 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

All persons above 45 are advised to vaccinate, the control room said.

A total of nine air passengers were tested in the last 24 hours and no one was found positive for Covid-19. The cumulative number of passengers found positive at Imphal airport remained at 87 mark.
